Event Name:
Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program
Description: Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Exercise Class
Date: December 11, 2009December 31, 2014
Full Description:
This water class is led by Arthritis Foundation certified instructors and consists of lower intensity exercises to promote optimum joint flexibility, muscle strength, endurance, coordination and balance. The soothing warmth and buoyancy of warm water make it a safe, ideal environment for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness. This class is also an excellent option for post-rehabilitation patients such as those recovering from total joint replacement or other debilitating health issues. Classes are held year-round in Brookwood's Rehab Pool, located inside the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine building in Vestavia Hills. The facility features an indoor heated pool, dressing rooms, showers and other amenities. Classes are open to the community and meet Monday & Friday mornings from 9:00am-10:00am. The fee is $35/month to attend two classes per week. Please contact Karen Culverhouse with questions or to register.
